In biblical times, women were property. According to the bible, they were fine with that, or as fine as the author(s) would have us believe. So in theory, cats been thinking women were stupid & unnecessary for so long, that eventually we started to believe it. At that time, women believed it, too. Granted, it was thousands of years back, but after Jesus was born, walked the Earth, crucified, then ascended, the woman’s subserviant attitude began to dissipate, slowly but fa’ sholy.

Man’s attitude, on the other hand, only got worse, as we modernized weapons & colonized lands & people & further claimed ownership, by force in most instances, to whatever we wanted. In the meantime, as with the human species in general, women continued to evolve, in their own way.

Fast forward.

Our great grandfathers, still with an archaic sense of command & a slight slave mentality overflow, put our great aunt’s & great grandmother’s in a similar position, as chattel, except this was not ancient times. Women stopped being the “stupid” property they had been, & that was documented fact. Several decades later, they began tapping the core of the inner strength that allows them to bear children, & bleed for days without dying. I truly believe there’s a divine reason why women give birth instead of men, but that’s for another day.

Fast forward again.

Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones becomes the poster man for what you don’t want to happen to you. He underestimated the level of intelligence he married, thusly, is being sodomized, legally. Normally, this is where I toss out a “NaS picks his women like he picks his beats,” but it’s not about him, per se. It’s about the survivalist instincts that kick in when a women feels threatened. That same piece of property has evolved into a cunning creature, with the ability to crush a man’s soul without so much as chipping an airbrush-painted, rhinestone-covered talon. & it’s not because they’re smarter than us, so much as we’ve convinced ourselves that they’re dumber than us, if you smell my cologne. Young dudes be warned: nothing in life is free, & you’ve never “got” the cooch. She gave it to you. The ulterior motive depends on where her head is (pun intended), but the outcome is usually the same. Power & control. Even the most unintelligent human being will find way to survive, mentally & physically, so don’t be so quick to fall prey to a woman under the mistaken nonchalance that she’s just a “stupid bitch.”

I’ve said it before I’ll say it again; the right woman on your side is a powerful ally. The wrong woman can & will be your downfall. What we think is a loose booty sperm catcher is a hustler, really though. & a true hustler’s greatest weapon is under estimation. Most times, the signs are there. In NaS’ case, he chose not to listen. Twice.

Bottom line, us men gotta stop treating our women like shit, starting with our daughters. The grown women, obviously beyond help are a lost cause. If the chain is breakable, it starts at the first link, so to speak. Whether we want to believe it or not, women are powerful. If you haven’t had the misfortune of personally finding out how powerful, consider yourself lucky, my friend. & tread lightly. The 5 minute factor is never too far away.
