I went to school with “David Banner”, and have known him personally for a number of years. He aint exactly the hood prophet he paints himself to be. To be honest, my interactions with him over the years have left me a little lukewarm on the brother, and as such, I am extremely biased in my opinions. I don’t believe he values the culture as much he professes to as opposed to what he knows it can do for him. Suffice it to say that when he’s playing hood ambassador or whatever, I don’t want his voice to be the one representative of OUR place, duties, and/or responsibilities in hip hop.
